Mutual of Omaha replaced their Indian chief head that had been the symbol of the insurance and financial services company for 70 years with an African lion.
“We chose the symbol of a lion not only as a nod to our Wild Kingdom heritage, but to represent the strong company we’ve always been,” said Keith Clark, the company’s senior vice president of marketing.
"We have spent time listening to diverse perspectives among our associates, community leaders and diversity and inclusion experts, and are taking further action to advance racial equity and social justice to create meaningful change," Mutual of Omaha Chairman and CEO James Blackledge said in a statement.
