Fulmore Middle School, named after Zachary Taylor Fulmore, a private in the Confederate Army who also was a 19th-century Travis County judge and Austin school trustee, was renamed for Sarah Lively, a longtime teacher at the school.
“She gave 47 years to the students of Fulmore — 22 of them as a volunteer without ever asking for anything in return,” said Travis Waid. “Let’s pay her back. Let’s pay back all teachers who dedicate every day of their life to our children by renaming Fulmore after one of their own.”
